it felt so good to read a card from my youngest son today.
it was a funny card about duct tape and cussing.
it was a day of joy for me being it was my first fathers day card from my son since he and his family left the cult.
I may be wrong here, but it was my understanding that there is nothing pagan in origin about Father's Day. It's a relatively modern invention which was designed to counterbalance Mother's Day. And no doubt to make more money for retailers.
So, in theory you should be able to mark Father's Day even if you're PIMO or PIMI.

I got beaten regularly both at home and at the meetings, as did many other kids. It was the way it was, unfortunately.
I thought I had dealt with the past and moved on, but when my own children came along so did a lot of repressed memories. Still dealing with those.
we have long queried why so-called things of pagan or religious origin like christmas or easter are banned by the wts but the use of wedding rings were not.. i was talking about this with a friend who follows a wiccan path of belief and he has sent me the following information from one of his magic magazines.. quote: .

I recall a brother saying to me that Chris De Burgh was demonized, because he was listening to him in his room one night and he felt the bed shake and his legs being pulled from under him.
Some months down the line, it turned out that it wasn't the demons but the family dog sleeping under the bed that caused the experience.

anyway on with the post.... i attend the kh this weekend with pimi wife, iāve been a handful of times before.
I remember being at a Pioneer meeting the day before a circuit assembly, around 1997. The KH had cordless microphones, and during a dramatic pause in one of the speakers talks, 'Baby Love' by The Supremes came wafting over the sound system.

Been listening to a lot of Miranda Lambert today. I'm not a big Country fan, but there's something about her style and her often witty lyrics that keeps me coming back.

i did not have any connection to jw's when they published this, about two weeks before i graduated from high school.
i'm now on medicare and collecting social security.
so much for their ability to see into the future.
I got a scholarship to go to grammar school, but my devout JW mum refused to let me go. It would be unfair she said, to take away a place from somebody else who would be staying on beyond the minimum term.
So to seek first the Kingdom I was packed off to the local secondary school. Can you believe that? Still hurts 35 years on.
